A fire extinguisher that has not been serviced is a heavy ornament. We supply, site, commission and service portable extinguishers to BS 5306, so that the right extinguisher is in the right place, in date and ready to use.

Servicing
Annual basic servicing to BS 5306-3 by trained technicians, extended servicing at the five and ten year points, refills after use, and safe disposal of end-of-life units. Every extinguisher is asset-tagged and recorded, so your register shows type, location, manufacture date and next service due.
Fire blankets, signage and cabinets
We supply and inspect fire blankets to BS EN 1869, extinguisher stands, cabinets, and ID and location signage to BS ISO 7010, so the whole provision is compliant, not just the cylinder.
Frequently asked
How many extinguishers do I need?
BS 5306-8 gives a minimum of two Class A extinguishers per floor with a combined rating of at least 26A, and no more than 30 metres travel to the nearest one, plus specific types for electrical, cooking oil and flammable liquid risks. The fire risk assessment refines this for your building.
What happens at an annual service?
A competent technician checks the pressure, weight, hose, horn, safety pin, tamper seal and label, inspects for corrosion and damage, checks siting and signage, and fits a service label with the date. Defective units are replaced on the spot from van stock.
What is an extended service?
Every five years water, foam and powder extinguishers are discharged, internally examined, refilled and recharged. CO2 extinguishers have a hydraulic pressure test every ten years. We handle the discharge and disposal responsibly.
Do you service on the same visit as the fire alarm?
Wherever possible, yes. One visit, one engineer, one set of certificates, which is cheaper for you and better for access.
